Political Pop Art
After having established my main painting style, I wanted to use my artwork as a platform to voice out important issues pertaining to the Muslim world, for instance the wars taking place in the Middle East, Islamophobia and more recently mental health.
Humanity
commissionned canvas for the Message to Isis online campaign. Mixed media acrylic and newspaper collage on the media coverage of ISIS terrorist attacks and of their misrepresentation of the Quran to suit their agenda.
Unité
mixed media acrylic paint and collage painting based on the issue of media bias in the aftermath of terrorist attacks. We should all unite in the face of terror.
Don't Shoot
mixed media acrylic paint and collage painting based on institutionalised racism, abuse of authority and police brutality. The collage typography were of the last words of the many victims of police brutality who lost their lives that year.
Beyond the Veil
Mixed media acrylic paint, collage and installation piece for the Searching Souls Exhibition 2017. The piece was about misogyny and Islamophobia against the woman wearing a veil.
Peace be upon Humanity
A collaborative mixed media painting with calligraphist Ismail Hussayn of House of Calligraphy on the negative media coverage of the Syrian Refugee Crisis.
Rise Up
Mixed media acrylic and collage painting on mental health stigma in the Muslim Community. The painting shows that even the prophet (pbuh) suffered from depression and had surah Duha revealed to aid him. If the best of creation suffered with mental health, we are bound to suffer too and it does not mean we are deficient in our faith.

Untie me

"Untie me and see if I can still stand as me"
